TRIL’s researchers publish paper on acclimatization in hospital environments during Brazilian Congress of Mechanical Engineering
Camilo Alves, doctoral student At TRIL and advisee of Prof. Gustavo Oliveira, participated in the 26th International Congress of Mechanical Engineering – COBEM 2021 presenting the article entitled Analysis of Indoor Ventilation in the pneumology Ward at the Lauro Wanderley University Hospital, Brazil . In this article, the flow features inside a ward at the Federal University of Paraíba hospital’s generated by air-conditioning systems were studied from computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Aimed at the search for better acclimatization, viral transmission analysis, and indoor comfort in hospital environments, the research was developed in the context of engineering control as part of an inter-institutional project in partnership with State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. This project faces Covid-19 pandemic challenges and searches for improvement in layout, infrastructure, and containment projects against future epidemiological events.
