Strategic Planning

Our strategic planning for research actions has a local-to-global outlook described as follows.

Global level

Strict observation of global trends for R&D efforts, such as those disclosed by the GESDA Science Breakthrough Radar and by the Agenda 2030’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Know more about the 17 SDGs clicking here.

National level

Alignment with the Brazilian policies for R&D, in particular with the National Plan for the Graduate Programs, which highlight the leading areas of the country and the need for protagonism of the universities in defining their research programs. Regional level

Monitoring of Brazil’s northeastern region perspectives, given its vocation for agriculture, renewable energies, oil and gas exploration, and more. Paraíba state, where we are, currently turns to renewable energy, attracting heavy investment for installation of wind farms and photovoltaic plants.

Local level

Application of research goals proposed by the Institutional Development Plan of the Federal University of Paraíba, in terms of advisory, mentorship, and formation of qualified human resources.
